You should be aware that if you are towing a trailer in the UK which doesn't have a correct trailer VIN plate displayed you could find that your trailer, along with its contents, may be impounded by the Police or VOSA.

Now imagine that you have two thoroughbred horses in / on  your trailer, a speedboat, bikes, a classic car, antiques or whatever and you can imagine the trauma and cost that might follow if you are stopped and checked and your trailer isn't displaying a trailer chassis plate. We cannot stress enough the need to have the correct plate on your trailer, whether this is a single axle trailer, twin axle or triple axle trailer. If you intend to take your trailer abroad you may (almost certainly) face difficulties when you reach your destination if a correct plate is not displayed on the trailer. Police or Customs Authorities in other countries have been know the impound the trailer and its contents if a plate is not displayed.
